Middle Church's commitment to social justice is local, national and global. That includes responding to neighbors around the globe when disaster strikes. Our commitment to the Gulf Coast region is ongoing. Every year since the levees broke, a Middle Church team has travelled to the region to help rebuild houses and lives, to be the loving hands and feet of Christ. Our gospel choir travelled to New Orleans to bring an uplifting musical light to those returning and rebuilding.
We offered support to the first responders and our East Village neighbors following the explosion at Second Avenue and 7th Street. We continue to pray for our friends in Nepal and Japan who have lost so much following the earthquakes and tsunami, and continue to offer financial support as well. Our prayers and support go forth in love to Haiti, and along with our Collegiate Church partners, we have turned our hearts and resources toward Somalia.
